I would seriously like to know when wife became a bad word. I have heard and read Happy Wife Happy Life increasingly. Is that what husbands are doing now appeasing their wives?

Husbands grow up. Your wife is not your daughter, she's not your sister, or even your "best friend" as so many wives pretend or portray you as on facebook. She is your wife, so figure out what it means to have a wife--your wife, not a wife--and then figure out what it means to be a husband.
